The pieces of Victorian Art created by the artists at Boardwalk Studios are known as Boardwalk Originals.  Over the years, Boardwalk Original pieces often become family treasures and heirlooms.  Many people collect them and certain pieces, particularly those retired, also become popular collectors' items.

There are three primary types of Boardwalk Originals pieces: Paintings, Hanging Pieces and Stand-up Pieces.  The Stand-up pieces are also often referred to as Silent Partners, Dummy Boards, Painted Boards or Wooden Paintings.  In addition to the three primary types of Boardwalk Originals mentioned above, framed prints, clocks and other decorating and display items are also available from time to time.

Boardwalk Original Paintings (e.g. Snowman With Top Hat Painting) are original paintings on wood and are available either framed (one piece painting and wooden frame with a built in mounting device that makes for easy mounting) or unframed for those wishing to use their own frame.  For those desiring something different, virtually any Boardwalk Originals piece including the Hanging Pieces and Dummy Boards can be framed.

Hanging Pieces (e.g. Witch In Moon and Snowman Disk) are also original paintings on wood that have been designed primarily to be hung or mounted on a wall or other surface and include a built in mounting device that makes for easy mounting.

The Dummy Boards (e.g. Rabbit With Egg Cart) begin as pieces of wood that have been cut to resemble characters from Holidays, Storybook & other cultural traditions. The wooden piece is then hand painted by the artists.  Dummy Boards  are designed primarily to stand-up on their own with an easy to install removable brace that when removed makes for easier storage of the piece.

The Boardwalk artists, under the direction of Bonnie Barrett, hand paint and air brush each Boardwalk Original piece.  Then, additional specialized procedures are performed to produce a natural slightly time worn look and other desired effects (e.g. glitter on certain pieces, particularly Christmas pieces).  The attention to detail employed by the Boardwalk artists give Boardwalk Originals the uniqueness that they are known for throughout the world.

The truly artistic nature of each Boardwalk Original Painting, Hanging Piece and Dummy Board contributes greatly to their popularity and value.  As with any piece of art painted by humans, slight variations may exist from piece to piece.  In the eyes of many Boardwalk Originals owners, this only further enhances their value.
